Meet your Attorney

Jeremy D. Cohen

is originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 20 miles from Philadelphia.  After deciding that he never wanted to see snow again, Jeremy accepted an ROTC scholarship to the University of Florida.  Upon graduating, Jeremy began an educational delay for his military service to attend law school at Loyola College of Law, New Orleans.  While there, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Jeremy temporarily transferred to Fordham Law in New York City.  When he returned to Loyola, Jeremy took his first legal job as an intern for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office.

After passing the bar exam, Jeremy entered active duty with the U.S. Army JAG Corps, and was assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  While there, Jeremy served as a Labor & Employment Attorney, dealing with the employment conflicts and labor disputes for the installation’s large civilian workforce.  Jeremy was then nominated to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.  In this position, Jeremy was responsible for prosecuting federal crimes that occurred on the Fort Bragg military reservation.

Upon departing the XVIII Airborne Corps, Jeremy joined the Fort Bliss Trial Defense Services, representing Soldiers accused of crimes.  In this position, Jeremy handled the full range of offenses, from minor infractions, to the most serious felonies.  This role included court-martial trials and administrative hearings, where Jeremy worked tirelessly to protect his client’s rights, represent their interests, and hold the Government accountable.

Once his time with Trial Defense Services concluded, Jeremy moved to Fort Gordon, Georgia in 2015, where he was given the position of Senior Trial Counsel (prosecutor) charged with handling military offenses on the installation.  However, due to mission requirements, Jeremy volunteered to deploy with the 1st Armored Division to the CENTCOM area of operations.  During that assignment, Jeremy advised commanders on combat operations.

Shortly after redeploying, Jeremy left active duty and took a position as the General Counsel for US CareNet, Inc., an Augusta based national provider of healthcare services.  In this role, Jeremy headed the legal department, and oversaw regulatory and compliance matters for the company.  After four years with the company, Jeremy decided to enter private practice, where he could get back to representing individuals assisting with their legal needs.

In addition to working at his Evans, Georgia based law firm, Jeremy continues to serve as a member of the Army JAG Corps in the Georgia Army National Guard.  When not practicing law, Jeremy likes to spend time with his wife, three daughters and their two crazy dogs. Jeremy’s hobbies include traveling, cooking, and watching his Philadelphia Eagles no matter how bad they are playing. Most importantly, Jeremy looks forward to assisting his neighbors with any legal issue they may encounter.
